Nelson Intelligence Solutions prides itself of having the most diverse and accomplished staff you will find in your career.  NiS offers fantastic benefits and an amazing workplace culture where you will feel valued while you perform mission critical work for the federal government.  NiS is seeking an Imagery Analyst who will be responsible for providing imagery analysis services on orders of battle, battle damage assessments, and other core skills specific to imagery analysis.  Selected applicant will be subject to NGA's Security Financial Disclosure (NSFD) Program.

NiS is seeking a seasoned Meteorology and Oceanography (METOC) subject matter expert (SME) with experience in atmospheric, space, climatic and hydrologic intelligence. The successful candidate will serve as the METOC SME for NiS in support of the Marine Corps Intelligence Schools (MCIS), Marine Detachment (MARDET) METOC curriculum development and training.

Scope:

The METOC SME shall deliver instruction as required for all METOC related Marine Corps Detachment (MARDET) Programs of Instruction (POIs). As well as, assist the MARDET Dam Neck Course Chiefs and Course Instructors with the development, instruction, and implementation of all METOC related blocks of instruction. The successful candidate shall draft documents to support Marine Corps Intelligence Schools (MCIS) Operations and Academics with Course Curriculum Review Boards (CCRBs), Training and Readiness (T&R) Manual Working Groups and POI validation, while assisting in the validation of the USMC METOC training and procedures IAW applicable approved POIs. In addition, the METOC SME shall draft tasks and responses for MCIS Operations utilizing Department of the Navy Tasking, Records and Consolidated Knowledge Enterprise Repository (DON TRACKER) concerning the following topics: Doctrine, Service Policy and Orders, DOD Training Councils/Boards and Training Evaluation.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the MCIS METOC Subject Matter Expert in all duties as required
  • Assist the MCIS Deputy Operations Officer as required
  • Assist the MCIS Operations Officer as required
  • Advise the MCIS Commanding Officer of all METOC specific issues as required.
  • Develop curricula as required in support of all METOC POIs.
  • Maintain awareness of METOC and other intelligence related training courses on evolving techniques, tactics, procedures (TTPs), and training methodology.
  • Draft knowledge and performance objectives, development of measurement devices including surveys, and analyze measurement results.
  • Support the oversight of course testing databases and student registration functions within MCTIMS.
  • Conduct and provide briefings to Fleet Marine Forces (FMF) and supporting establishments on USMC Systems Approach to Training (SAT) and MCIS training.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in meteorology, atmospheric science, or other natural science major or METOC certification through a military service school.
  • Fifteen (15) years' experience in the METOC career field (Active Duty/Civilian/Contractor).
  • Three (3) years' experience serving on a Major Command, or Combatant Command staff.
  • Examples of specialized experience includes technical knowledge of meteorological methods, techniques, and practices, including weather observing, forecasting, electro-optics, communications meteorological equipment support procedures.

Preferred Additional Skills

  • Must be a U.S. citizen and possess an active SECRET clearance.
  • Active military duty experience, including recent meteorological/oceanographic/ASW operational experience at the senior Enlisted (E7-E9) or mid-grade officer (O3) level or higher.
  • Six years of experience as training analyst and METOC subject matter expert (SME) in tactical environmental support and database maintenance and management. Experience in ASW, EMW, and IAMD warfare areas particularly desired.
  • Applicants must have at a minimum a current Secret clearance and be able to maintain for the duration of their employment with the company.

Physical Requirements

  • Regularly required to sit for extended periods up to 80% of the time; frequently required to move about to access file cabinets and use office equipment such as PC, copier, fax, telephone, cell phone, etc.
  • Occasionally required to reach overhead, bend, and lift objects of up to 10 lbs.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include use of computer monitor screens up to 80% of time
